Things to Do

♥ See a man about his snake.
♣ Find a magician to get the spoon out of my garbage disposal, sucker's stuck in there good.
◘ See if anyone needs/wants a bag full of avocados and lemons.
♠ Print up signs stating that I do not and will not carry the Twilight series of books in my shop.
♦ BOGO flip flops!
♥ Teach Sandra how to prepare eggplant that is edible. Slice it and let it sweat, woman.

And um...anyone care to explain what this means?
See my brainscanner results

Does your magic hiccup and stammer the way you do? I'm thinking that could spell disaster, no pun intended.

And oh, I grok you magic-man. Any science we don't understand is awe-inspiring and mystical. And then there are lava lamps...never mind.

I'm pretty sure the java applet is just a simple logarithm, seemingly 'random' but if you play with it long enough you'll notice a distinct pattern to the 'results'. Not so mysterious, that one.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
No. I'm-- most comfortable, doing magic. It's people who are problematic.

Simply because there, there may be patterns means it's not mysterious? Everything is patterns... musical chords are mathematically related to each other b-by ratios, but it's still art, ja? So an algorithm means something isn't magic?

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Knowing the mechanics involved kinda takes something out of it, for me anyway. It's a lack of wonder and awe, I guess.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
*blinks once* But the patterns are so beautiful.

I mean-- just as an example-- the rhythms of chlorophyll conversion and cellular divide charted onto a musical staff or prime number sequences-- how is that not full of awe?

*sounds very much like a fascinated child*

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Plant digestion as music? That's one hell of an interesting concept. Of course now I'm thinking about a making a salad...and turning on the radio.

*smiles at him, she doesn't know what his deal is but he's entertaining in that harmless kook sort of way*

I'm glad you find beauty in simple things, or the overlooked and taken for granted things.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
P-put in a little arugula. And candied walnuts.

*short laugh* Can't help it, really. Altered-- perceptions. Sometimes I forget other people are... normal blind cursed lucky ...different.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Green apple. I like that sour-sweet combination.

Different's not all it's cracked up to be.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
That'd be good too. Or pears. Anjou. That is one good thing these days. Fresh p-produce. Not that I always have the, ah, the appetite.

N-no, it's not.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
I really am hungry now. Maybe a strawberry vinaigrette.

But then, so many people want to be an unique snowflake...just like everybody else.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Munchies! Haha.
...um, sorry.

I don't. I'd rather be boring. Not an option though.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, if we're talking munchies, I want pretzels dipped in cheez-whiz and a bag of sour cream and onion flavored chips. Maybe an avocado and pickle sandwich.

Denial helps, I've found.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Denial that one is not normal, or...?

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
*points a finger at him while touching the tip of her nose with the index finger of her other hand*

Got it in one.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
*blinks at the finger-pointing then smiles wryly*

S-some people can pass as normal easier than others.

I don't know your name.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
Me? Oh. Yes. It's Doctor.

Chantal's lovely, though. I knew a Chantal in school.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Doctor. Okay...Doctor of what?

Thanks, I like it...even if I am named after a French nut who starter herself an order of nuns.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
Just Doctor. I'm... I'm still sorting out 'of what.'

*nods* Jane Frances de Chantal. I, I take it you're not-- religious.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't aware that it worked that way...

And no, I'm not. At least in the organized sense.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. Um. It doesn't. I'm-- doing it backwards.

And in a non-organized sense?

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting, I'll give you that.

I know there's a higher...something greater than me out there if that's what you're asking.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
And, and how do you think you should relate to that higher power, if we can call it that? Do you feel you-- owe it something? Worship? Respect? Do you feel it cares about you? Or people at all?

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't have a whole lot of choice in the matter. Acknowledge it, yes. Relate...I don't even understand it. As far as owing or respecting anything...the human race, man kind...trying not to fuck up the proper order of things.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you always should.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Th-that's certainly a wiser attitude than-- many-- I've run across.... I asked because I have a-- certain interest-- in religion. In how we have as, as a species, interacted with the divine, with that which is beyond ourselves.

(Heh. Maybe I'm a doctor of theology.)

That, that is very true.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
You're a cookie?

--oh. Right. Figure of speech.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-08-15 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I keep coming back to food in this conversation, I really am hungry.

Or maybe you are.

[identity profile] globalshaman.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
N-not me. I don't think. I might be picking famine vibes from Africa. It happens sometimes.

[identity profile] so-well-read.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's...interesting. Do you ever get vibes full of sloth, greed and overabundance from North America?
